Media strategy

Know what to make before you make it.

A strategy session turns a vague sense that you "should do more video" into a clear plan: the content, the audience, the channels, and the outcome.

Most content fails before filming starts. Not because of the camera, but because no one decided what the video was for. A media strategy fixes that at the source.

We research your business and your audience, run a focused workshop with your team, and hand you a written plan: what to produce, in what order, where it goes, and how you'll know it worked.

What's included

Research, a workshop, a plan.

  • Research into your audience, your market, and what your competitors are doing
  • A workshop with your key people to settle goals and messages
  • A written strategy document: content priorities, message hierarchy, channel plan
  • Implementation guides for each recommended content type

The thinking behind it

One loop, run on purpose.

The plan covers the whole cycle, from who you're talking to through to what the numbers say, so each pass sharpens the next.

Common questions

A few things people often ask.

What does a media strategy cost?

From $5,000 ex GST. It's delivered as a plan you can take to any production partner, including us, and it folds straight into production if you go ahead rather than sitting as a separate cost.

What do I actually get?

Research into your audience and market, a workshop with your key people, a written strategy document with content priorities, message hierarchy and a channel plan, plus implementation guides for each recommended content type.

How long does a strategy take?

Typically two to three weeks, covering the research, the workshop and the written plan.

Do I have to produce the videos with you?

No. The strategy is yours to use with any producer. If you do go on to produce with us, the strategy cost folds into the work.

We're not ready to film. Is strategy still worth it?

That's when it helps most. It stops you spending on content before you've decided what it's for, who it's for and what it should do.
